Managing Director: Gabe Cole 

Gabe Cole serves as Managing Director and co-heads the acquisitions and sales division for Pelican Capital Group. Mr. Cole is a licensed California real estate broker and experienced investor with over thirteen years of full time experience in the real estate industry. Gabe is a graduate of USC’s Marshall School of Business with an emphasis in real estate finance and development. Having sold hundreds of properties and earned numerous awards throughout the course of his career, Gabe has more than earned his reputation as one of Orange County’s most skilled and trustworthy real estate professionals. His following of loyal clientele is a testament to the level of dedication he puts forth in every transaction he oversees.

In 2009 Gabe turned his passion in real estate towards the investment side of the business. He has been personally responsible for the acquisition and sales of over 40 residential fix and flip properties by way of Trustee Sale (Auction), Bank Owned (REO) properties, Short Sales, Probate and other distressed real estate. Through his experience with residential property sales and property valuation, Gabe is able to very accurately identify what a property will be able to sell for after it has gone through a rehabilitation to bring it up to the optimal marketing condition.

Managing Director: Joe McKnight

Mr. McKnight co-leads Pelican Capital Group’s corporate and equity finance activities along with fundraising and client relations. Additionally, he is active in the management of the company’s daily operations. Mr. McKnight has more than 10 years of experience in real estate acquisition, disposition and management as the Director of Legal, Executive V.P. for a real estate investment trust (REIT) located in Corona del Mar, CA. During his tenure, he guided the company through complex corporate and real estate transactions, managed real estate litigation throughout the United States. Most recently, he established a lending business completing more than $10 million in real estate secured transactions. Mr. McKnight’s career is built upon a solid foundation of real estate finance and mortgage originations, trust structures, loan servicing and residential securitizations.

Mr. McKnight is an active member of Big Brothers, Big Sisters as a ‘Big Brother’, and in 2013 and 2014 was Co-Chair of the prestigious Gourmet Dinner held at Balboa Bay Resort, raising just under $1 million each year. He attended Gonzaga School of Law and California Western School of Law, and holds a Juris Doctor. He received his bachelor’s degree from California State University, Fullerton where he excelled in collegiate debate. In 2013, Joe attended the Real Estate Finance, Design and Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. Notable among Joe’s accomplishments is the management of a $17 million auction sale of the historic Villa Rockledge property in Laguna Beach, CA.
